Absorption System

        If the leak is uncontrollable, the FRP Gas Hood is placed over the Tonner manually to cover the leaky Tonner totally. The outlet nozzle of the Hood is connected to Blower suction by a flexible PVC hose and /or PVC/FRP piping or ducting. The Hood prevents the leaky chlorine gas to spread into the atmosphere.

        The Absorbent Pumps and suction Blower/Fans are started [Manually or in Automatic mode]. The Blower sucks the leaked chlorine gas, directs it to the Absorption Tower, where chlorine meets counter currently the absorbent solution. The chlorine gas is absorbed by Absorbent and the air is vented at the top of the tower. As this is absorption accompanied by a chemical reaction, there will be only nil or negligible traces of chlorine in the air vent. The process of starting of Absorbent Circulation Pump and Blower can be done automatically based on the signals from Chlorine Gas Leak Detector sensor[s] located close to the Tonners and in Chlorination Plant.

      Sufficient quantity of absorbent is continuously circulated in the Absorption Tower from the Absorbent Tank till the Tonner gets emptied. The spent Absorbent, after completion of neutralisation of all chlorine, will contain only sodium chloride, sodium hypochlorite or sodium sulphate salts which are innocuous. This can be disposed off without any pollution problem.

Automatic Chlorine Tonner leak Detection

Chlorine has manifold diverse uses. As its usage and handling rise, the danger associated with it also rises. As such, a potential risk is involved, a severe emergency may suddenly and unexpectedly occur, such eventualities should be anticipated and proper methods should be devised in advance to meet them.

Chlorine Leaks
==========
The leaks in Chlorine Tonner or Cylinder are the leaks around Valves and take-off Flexible Copper Tube Connectors, Passing, Shearing / Breakdown of Valves, puncture on the wall of the Tonner. The common leaks at Valves or Copper Tubing can be met with standard Emergency Kits, but the others will be grave in nature and may suddenly and expectedly happen. It can be extensive and heavy.

STEAM HEATED CHLORINE EVAPORATOR

Working Principle
============
The Evaporator is divided into two cubicles the Inner Cubicle and the Outer Cubicle. Chlorine liquid is transferred directly from the source to the inner cubicle by container pressure. The Inner Cubicle is immersed in a temperature controlled Steam bath, which increases the temperature of chlorine causing it to boil and vaporize. Chlorine liquid enters the Inner Cubicle and maintains the required level necessary to meet the vaporization rate for gas demand. Automatically, a change in gas demand will cause the chlorine liquid level to adjust. The gas thus released is superheated as it passes through series of baffles while leaving the cubicle. Generally a superheated gas is required to prevent reliquification of chlorine in the process lines.

Installation
=======
The Evaporator should be located close to the source of chlorine. The length of the chlorine gas and liquid pipelines should be as short as possible. All the safety equipments should be handy. The plant should have provisions for exhausting chlorine gas, if a leak develops. Ideally a chlorine gas leak absorption system can be provided. It is recommended to fix a lifting device above the Evaporator to remove the inner cubicle. Consistent supply of saturated steam at recommended pressure, temperature and flow rate should be provided for reliable performance of the steam heated Evaporator.

Safety Features
===========
This Evaporator is designed to self adjust the liquid chlorine level thereby preventing the build up of excessive pressure. An automatic or manual Shut-Off Valve and Pressure Relief Valve, Cathodic Protection, Steam Valve, Condensate Trap, Drain Valve, Pressure Gauge and Temperature Gauge is also included for safe operation.

This Evaporator is designed for reliability, safety and very little maintenance. This Evaporator can be made fully automatic or partially automatic depending upon the level of automation and sophistication required by the Client...

Tonner emergency kit

Tonner Emergency Kit A is designed for use with the standard DOT 3A480 and 3AA480 100 and 150 pound capacity cylinders in chlorine service only. Tonner Emergency Kit A contains devices and tools to contain leaks in and around the cylinder valve and in the side wall of chlorine cylinders. Note: Tonner Emergency Kit A is the only chlorine emergency kit for chlorine cylinders that is manufactured to the design specifications of the Chlorine Institute. Under certain circumstances U.S. DOT regulations permit transportation of a chlorine cylinder with an Tonner Emergency Kit A.

Continuous Production Electro Chlorinators

Continuous Production ElectroChlorinators are On-Site Sodium Hypochlorite [Hypo] Generator designed for small / medium / large capacities.Continuous

Production ElectroChlorinators are capable of producing from 500 gms/hr to 15Kgs/hr active chlorine using our unique Multimetallic Oxides Coated, Titanium Nobel Anodes and Electrochemical Process. Brine solution passes through an Online Electrolyser with inbuilt heat exchanger pack.This is connected to a DC Rectifier.When low voltage DC is passed through the Electrolyser Cell, Sodium Hypochlorite solution to concentration of 6-8 gms/litre approx. is evolved continuously. This can be stored in a Storage Tank and pumped / used at required rates.



Basic System Components

Brine Solution Storage Tank/ Sea Water Tank, Brine/Seawater Pump, Electrolyser with inbuilt composite FRP Heat Exchanger or Chiller Plant, DC Rectifier, Hypo Storage Tank, necessary Instrumentation, pipes and fittings, and Dosing Pump and accessories.

Operation

A metered amount of water is mixed with common salt to form brine of required concentration (or Seawater is used). This is the electrolyte used in the process. This electrolyte is pumped to Electrolyser cells, when DC Current passes through these Titanium Anodes with special MMO Coating, Sodium Hypochlorite solution to concentration of 8 gms/litre approx. evolves continuously and this is collected in Hypo Storage Tank and applied directly or pumped to the point of application at required rates. To maintain the temperature at correct levels, prevent dissipation and get correct concentration of Sodium Hypochlorite output, Brine/ seawater is
cooled through a chiller or heat exchanger.

Batch Production Electro Chlorinators

Batch production Electro Chlorinators are designed for small capacities and are available from 15 gms/hr to capacity of 500 gms/hr chlorine equivalent, using our unique Multimetallic Oxides Titanium Nobel Anodes and Electrochemical Process. Production of Sodium Hypochlorite is completed in a batch of every 8 hours, to concentration of around 6-8 gms/litre.

Operation:

A metered amount of water is mixed with common salt to form brine of required concentration [or Seawater is used]. This is the electrolyte used in the process. Electrolyser Cells are dipped in this measured quantity of Brine Solution, contained in a specially made FRP Tank [Bisphenol Resin]. These cells are connected to a rectifier, which converts Alternate current to Direct current. When DC Current passes through these Titanium Anodes with MMO Coating, Sodium Hypochlorite evolves instantaneously with negligible quantities of hydrogen rising up to the surface, which is vented out. This process is based on the chemistry of Electrolysis of Sodium Chloride. The Sodium Hypochlorite thus generated is collected in a storage Tank and applied directly or pumped to the point of application.
